Pirelli Unveils the Scorpion Trail III Adventure Tire

In October 2023, Pirelli announced the release of the Scorpion Trail III, the successor to the popular Scorpion Trail II tire. Originally introduced in 2015, the Scorpion Trail II became a favorite among adventure-touring bike enthusiasts. With advancements in technology and changing rider demands, Pirelli has improved its flagship adventure tire to meet the evolving needs of riders.

Pirelli has now revealed the specifications, details, and sizes of the new Scorpion Trail III, which is designed to enhance both on-road and off-road performance. The tire features a sporty road profile inspired by the Diablo family of performance tires, making it suitable for sporty road riding. Additionally, reinforced grooves provide improved steering grip and rigidity for off-road adventures.

The Scorpion Trail III is constructed using new 100-percent silica compounds, ensuring consistent performance in wet and dry conditions. The front tire is made of a single compound, while the rear tire utilizes a dual-compound construction. The softer rubber shoulders of the rear tire enhance cornering grip and stability, while the harder rubber center improves longevity during long highway rides.

Designed for heavyweight adventure bikes like the KTM 1290 Super Adventure and BMW R 1300 GS, the Scorpion Trail III features a zero-degree steel belt with a reinforced structure to handle heavy loads. Pirelli has also focused on improving mileage, promising high-speed stability and progressive behavior.

The new Scorpion Trail III will be available at dealerships in the first half of 2024. It will be released in a total of nine front tire sizes and nine rear tire sizes. Refer to the size chart below for more information:
