2024: A Milestone Year for the American Motorcyclist Association
In 2024, the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) will be celebrating its centennial anniversary in style. The AMA has big plans for the motorcycling community, including events, special races, and exhibits, to mark this significant milestone.
However, the AMA isn't the only one celebrating a major achievement in 2024. Kawasaki is also commemorating the 40th birthday of its legendary Ninja model, which has become an iconic symbol of sportbikes across generations. The original Ninja, the GPZ900R, made its debut in 1984 and gained fame through its appearance in the movie Top Gun. It was known for its impressive combination of open-class power and agile handling.
Both Kawasaki and the AMA are capitalizing on the Ninja's iconic status by raffling off a brand-new Ninja ZX-4RR Anniversary Edition. This motorcycle represents an important milestone for Kawasaki, as it demonstrates the company's ability to cater to a niche enthusiast market. The ZX-4RR is the only motorcycle in its class to feature a high-revving 399cc inline-four engine, producing over 80 horsepower and revving up to an incredible 16,000 rpm.
The AMA is raffling off the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR 40th Anniversary Edition as part of its centennial anniversary celebrations. This motorcycle joins other notable pieces, including a 1975 BMW R90S and a 1997 KTM 200 EXC Jackpiner, that would be prized possessions for any dedicated collector.
James Holter, the AMA's Chief Operating Officer, expressed his excitement and gratitude for the community's support. He stated, "We are honored and appreciative that Kawasaki approached the AMA with this opportunity to commemorate both of our historic milestones with this anniversary raffle. Even better, every dollar raised will go to fund the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving American motorcycling history for future generations through the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame."
Mark Hosbach, Kawasaki's Regional Sales Director, highlighted the longstanding partnership between Kawasaki and the AMA, emphasizing their shared vision for the motorcycling community. He said, "This year marks the 100th anniversary of the AMA as well as the 40th anniversary of the legendary Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. We are proud to partner with the AMA to offer a limited 40th-anniversary model of our new Ninja ZX-4RR motorcycle to be raffled off in 2024 to help further support the AMA's cause."
Participating in the AMA's raffle is simple. A $5 donation earns one ticket, while a $20 donation gives five entries. Participants must be at least 18 years old and US residents to be eligible to win. For more information and to make a donation, visit the AMA's official website.
